After 11 years in North Carolina we are making our way to the middle of the country. Wish us luck!

Still no couch
Now it has been almost 10 weeks and no couch. I called this morning and they told me "Hmm, it was suppose to be delivered to our warehouse yesterday but it's not here. I don't know where it is". Only 8 days until my sister and her family come for Thanksgiving. I really hope we have that new couch because we are not all going to fit on the existing one! Keep your fingers crossed for us.

My little helper
Guess who is helping me grade lab reports? Isn't she cute! Means I don't have any place for me feet though.

Digger!
That little pain in the ass dog! Back in October she dug a small hole in our backyard. We filled it in with dirt and planted some grass (and it's growing!). Then on Tuesday (in our rain storm) she dug a HUGE hole in the backyard in a different spot. The mud on her paws was like glue and I had to get a bucket of water and dip her feet in them and rub the dirt off in the water. Today Mike went to the store and bought some dirt and more grass seed and filled in the hole. And of course, I let her out and didn't watch her and she dug up the hole again!
Tomorrow we are buying some fencing to put around it but Mike joked that soon our entire yard will be fenced off from her digging. I sure hope not! I'll take a picture in the morning when I'm out there supervising her at 6:30 am.

Fall in Illinois
Now that I am officially done lecturing in my Intro Bio course I feel like I can take a deep breath and enjoy what is left of the fall. The last few days have been yucky and rainy but the sun came out for a few hours this morning. We got to see the sun on the beautiful maple tree in our backyard. Here Cali is watching me while I take a picture of it, probably wondering what the heck I was doing. My next plan is to go to the grocery store and get all the stuff I need to make pumpkin cream cheese muffins and tomato parmesan soup for tomorrow!
